Message Not really sure where that oil is coming from (is it all over your downpipe?), but if you're getting white smoke, that oil is probably unrelated. If there's a ton of white smoke, it could be your head gasket. Or if it's not as extreme, maybe you've just got water in your exhaust? Has the car been sitting for an extended period of time or did the smoke just appear all of a sudden after driving it day to day? When my car sat for a few years while I was rebuilding it, I got a mild amount of white smoke that went away after a couple hundred miles, probably related to water in my pipes and in my gas.
